GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- The latest injured Dodger is second baseman Howie Kendrick, who was scratched 15 minutes before Thursday night's game -- a 5-5 tie vs. the Indians -- with left calf tightness.
The club said Kendrick is day to day. Elian Herrera started at second base.

"It's not very serious," said manager Dave Roberts. "I think we'd rather err on the side of caution. A calf, for a player like Howie, when he says it bothers him we'll give him a day or two. Missing a couple of days won't hurt him."
Kendrick just returned from a strained groin that kept him out of games for nearly a week.
