Kendrick takes another day to rest sore groin

March 8th, 2016

PHOENIX -- Dodgers infielder Howie Kendrick was sidelined again on Tuesday with right groin tightness, but reported improvement from Monday, when he was scratched from the starting lineup.
Kendrick said he isn't sure how he suffered the injury, but the training staff, based on his 24-hour improvement, believes the injury to be minor. Kendrick said if the discomfort persists on Wednesday, he would likely have an MRI.
He said the area tightened after he took early batting practice Sunday, but the only baseball activity in which he's restricted is running.

Meanwhile, third baseman Justin Turner still hasn't played in a Cactus League game as he returns from knee surgery, and it doesn't sound like he will any time soon, according to manager Dave Roberts, who said he prefers to have Turner play in Minor League games, in which his activity can be controlled.
Turner continues to take batting and fielding practice with the club and participate in running drills. His absence has provided extra playing time for Alex Guerrero, but Guerrero missed another game with a sore knee. Guerrero was originally in the lineup Tuesday but scratched as a precaution, said Roberts. Guerrero did work out with the club.
