LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers reinstated Yu Darvish (aka "Yu-San") from the 10-day disabled list for his start in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Brewers and placed righty Josh Fields on the 10-day DL with a lower back strain.

Darvish also landed on the DL with a back injury after feeling tightness in his last outing against the White Sox on Aug. 16, but manager Dave Roberts said the move was precautionary. Entering Sunday, Darvish had made three starts for the Dodgers, going 2-0 with a 2.50 ERA.

"If it were up to him, he wouldn't have skipped a start," Roberts said. "He understood what's at stake and with the rest and seeing his bullpen in Pittsburgh. He's excited, and I know he's healthy."

Roberts said Fields injured himself in warmups or playing catch but said the righty should return to the club when he's eligible to return from the DL.

"Josh takes good care of himself," Roberts said. "Like we've done with a lot of players, if there's something there -- just to not create [a] bigger situation."

Kershaw to meet team in Arizona

The Dodgers will be getting back ace Clayton Kershaw this week, as he'll join the team in Arizona and will be activated on Friday for his first start since going on the DL.

Kershaw pitched a rehab outing for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday -- his first game action since July 23. The southpaw tossed five innings, giving up two hits and a homer with eight strikeouts.
