Evan Carter wasted no time getting back at it on his rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco.
Carter, who has been sidelined with an oblique strain, hit a leadoff homer against the Amarillo Sod Poodles on Friday night. He took live batting practice against Chris Martin at Globe Life Field on Thursday, when the Rangers opened the series in Toronto.
Carter landed on the injured list on June 13 after a diving catch in center field caused him to leave the previous night’s game early. It was his first stint on the injured list this season following three separate trips to the IL in 2025.
Carter has hit just .176 this season, but remains an elite defensive center fielder, which kept him in the lineup every day.
In his absence, Wyatt Langford (.806 OPS entering Friday) has shifted over to center field, while Alejandro Osuna (.656 OPS) has played left.
