Fernando Tatis Sr. still has some serious dad strength. We've become so accustomed to seeing Fernando Tatis Jr.'s sweet swings and exhilarating bat flips that it's almost easy to forget his old man had plenty of power, too.
Fernando Tatis Sr. showing his sons how it’s done. 😂
That was on display in a casual Tatis family game of vitilla, a form of stickball popularized in the Dominican Republic. Maria Tatis posted a video to her Instagram of her husband and sons getting some cuts in, and while Tatis Jr. made solid contact, sending one flying to the right side, his father may have one-upped him. The elder Tatis strode to the plate in sandals and showed off a short, compact swing, ripping a line drive straight up the middle, then raising his arms in triumph.
There is, after all, one thing Tatis Jr. has not yet done and may never do, and that's hit two grand slams in one inning.
