Kontos shares love for 'selfless, supportive' mom

Giants reliever George Kontos' mother, Theodora, attended a Mother's Day function at Northwestern with her son.

cherishes his family ties. That's one reason he opted to attend Northwestern University, which is close to where he was raised in suburban Chicago.
Though the right-handed reliever spends most of the season thousands of miles away with the San Francisco Giants, his home and loved ones are never far from his mind, as he demonstrates in this Mother's Day tribute to his mom, Theodora, who's pictured with him at a Mother's Day function several years ago at Northwestern.
