PHOENIX -- Right-hander will miss the Giants' upcoming three-game series against the San Diego Padres due to paternity leave, manager Bruce Bochy said after Thursday night's 9-3 loss to Arizona.
Strickland's wife, Shelley, is expected to give birth to the couple's first child sometime this weekend.
Strickland hasn't allowed a run in three relief appearances spanning three innings so far.
