The Blue Jays are adding another experienced voice to their front office.
Gil Kim, a veteran of the Texas Rangers' front office in recent seasons, was hired Wednesday by Toronto to be the Blue Jays' director of player development. The 34-year-old Kim spent seven seasons with the Rangers and was most recently employed as the team's director of international scouting.
Kim, a native of Potsville, Pa., played college baseball for Vanderbilt University and went on to an international career that saw him play in the Netherlands, China, Australia, Spain and Venezuela. Kim will oversee Toronto's player development leaders and staff in his new assignment.
