Heisey, Taylor lift Nats; Fedde strong in start

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Starting pitching ruled Saturday at Port St. Lucie, Fla., with and each allowing no earned runs over three innings in a 6-0 Nationals win over the Mets at First Data Field.
Making his second Grapefruit League start, Matz allowed one unearned run, following a fielding error in the first.

"I feel pretty comfortable out there on the mound, even with runners on, which is a good sign," Matz said.
Fedde was even stingier, allowing nothing more than a hit and a walk. The Nationals' second-ranked prospect according to MLBPipeline.com, Fedde has not given up a run in seven innings this spring.
"I felt like this [was] one of my first real chances to go out and start against a team with a lot of their [starters] playing," said Fedde, who induced into a 1-6-3 double play with runners on the corners and one out in the third. "And just to get into a jam and get out of it, it felt good that I proved myself a little bit in a small sense."
