BALTIMORE -- Brandon Guyer will return to Cleveland on Thursday after his four-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus, and he'll wait for the Indians to return home from Baltimore on Friday to see what the next step will be in his rehab process.
Prior to his third game of his rehab assignment with Columbus on Tuesday, Guyer's flight was cancelled, and the outfielder got in a car and drove six hours to Louisville, Ky., to get to the game in time. Because of that, Guyer was penciled in as the designated hitter. In his second at-bat, Guyer was hit by a pitch in the ankle, but tests came back negative.
"He got hit in the ankle. Smoked." Indians manager Terry Francona said. "But he got X-rays and everything, so he's OK. So depending on how he feels, he's either going to DH or play the outfield tonight [for Columbus]. [Thursday] he's going to go back to Cleveland and we'll reconvene and kind of see what we should do next."
Guyer was placed on the 10-day disabled list on May 14, retroactive to May 13, with a left wrist sprain. In his first three games with Columbus, Guyer was 3-for-6 with a home run, an RBI and two walks. Prior to being placed on the disabled list, the outfielder was batting .182 with three doubles, one home run and five RBIs.

• Right-hander Danny Salazar, who was placed on the 10-day disabled list on June 6, retroactive to June 4, with right shoulder soreness, threw off a mound on Monday and did some shortstop-like drills on Tuesday to work on drive and arm strength.
• Abraham Almonte has not played in a rehab game since June 14 because the Indians did not want to rush his recovery process. Almonte was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right biceps strain on May 16. Francona said the outfielder will create a schedule when the team returns to Cleveland on Friday.
