ANAHEIM -- Indians third baseman Juan Uribe left Sunday's 8-3 win over the Angels at Angel Stadium in the fourth inning with a testicular contusion when he was struck in the groin area by a Mike Trout one-hopper.
The shot was clocked at 106 mph off the bat, according to Statcast™. Uribe tried to recover to make a play, picked the ball up, and then collapsed face down. It was scored as the first hit allowed by Indians starter Danny Salazar. A cart was summoned to take Uribe off the field.
After the game, the Indians had no further update on Uribe, saying he was still being evaluated at an undisclosed hospital.
Michael Martinez moved from center field to replace Uribe at third, with Tyler Naquin taking over in center for the Indians.
