ST. LOUIS -- The Dodgers recalled right-hander Jaime Schultz from Triple-A Oklahoma City and optioned right-hander JT Chargois to Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Schultz, 27, enters his first season with the Dodgers after spending the last six seasons with the Tampa Bay organization. He was acquired from the Rays on Jan. 8 in exchange for right-hander Caleb Sampen. In 22 career games at the Major League level, Schultz is 2-2 with a 5.64 ERA with 35 strikeouts in 30 1/3 innings. He tossed 1 1/3 innings, allowing one run on one hit with three strikeouts, for Oklahoma City prior to the promotion.

Chargois, 28, enters his second season with the Dodgers after being claimed by Los Angeles from Minnesota on Feb. 23, 2018. The former second-round Draft pick out of Rice University made two appearances for the Dodgers since being recalled on Tuesday, going 1 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on two hits with one strikeout.

“Right now, we’re back on line [with the bullpen workload], but we used Chargois two days in a row,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “Just for something unforeseen, you still want some coverage and stay away from some other guys that you might want to protect. Schultzie, got to know him in Spring Training, and can give us multiple innings.”
