July 11: Futures Game 'awesome experience' for Dominguez
Jasson Dominguez is 18 years old, still has braces and has played in just seven games in Rookie ball, but he’s already one of the most talked about prospects in the Minor Leagues.

The Yankees’ top prospect played in Sunday’s SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and playing four innings in center field. He also flashed some “The Martian” cleats and gloves, aligning with his nickname. But while he didn’t have much success at the plate, the experience of being around other top players served valuable.

“It was an awesome experience,” Dominguez said in Spanish. “At first, I was honestly pretty excited and anxious. But then once I calmed down, I learned a lot from the rest of the guys.”

One player in particular that Dominguez was excited to meet was Mariners outfield prospect Julio Rodríguez. Dominguez and Rodríguez talked throughout the game and Rodríguez shared some knowledge with the younger Dominican outfielder.

“I knew who he was, but I never got a chance to really meet him in person,” Dominguez said. “But we talked today and he’s just a really good person.”

July 9: Tallies first RBI, multihit game

He raised his batting average significantly from .133 to start the day to .200 and kept his OBP high at .407. Gameday »
