SAN FRANCISCO -- Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson left Saturday’s 7-2 win over the Giants in the eighth inning with lower back and side stiffness, manager Dave Roberts said.
Pederson was thrown out at the plate by catcher Aramis Garcia trying to score from third base on a wild pitch in the top of the eighth inning. San Francisco pitcher Mark Melancon made the tag as Pederson slid. Roberts said he believed the injury occurred during that play.
For the bottom of the eighth inning, Chris Taylor took over in left field.
Pederson did not start Sunday against left-hander Madison Bumgarner, but Roberts said he was available.
Pederson is having his most productive season with a .973 OPS and 18 home runs, second on the club to Cody Bellinger.
