Prior to Sunday's series finale at Detroit, the Chicago White Sox returned right-handed pitcher Jordan Hicks from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 15-day injured list and optioned right-hander Tyler Davis to Charlotte.
Hicks, 29, was placed on the injured list on May 23 (retroactive to May 21) with a right lat strain and made three appearances with Charlotte on his rehab assignment. He is 0-1 with a 5.60 ERA (11 ER/17.2 IP), one save, three holds and 15 strikeouts over 20 relief appearances this season, his first with the White Sox.
Davis, 27, has made 22 relief appearances with the Sox this season, his first in the major leagues, going 2-3 with a 4.63 ERA (12 ER/23.1 IP), .198 (16-81) opponents average, one save and 20 strikeouts.
