Rumored to be dealt before Monday's 3 p.m. PT Trade Deadline, outfielder Jorge Soler was designated for assignment by the Angels on Tuesday.
The club also recalled right-hander Ryan Johnson from Triple-A Salt Lake, reinstated infielder Adam Frazier and right-hander Ben Joyce from the injured list and selected the contracts of right-hander Shaun Anderson and left-hander Blake Weiman. Moisés Ballesteros, who was acquired from the Cubs on Monday, also reported to the club in Baltimore.
Acquired from the Braves in October 2024, the 34-year-old delivered a slash line of .208/.292/.380 with 24 homers and 83 RBIs over parts of two seasons with Los Angeles.
The Angels now have seven days to trade or place Soler on outright or unconditional release waivers.
