ST. PETERSBURG -- Rays third baseman had his first career three-homer game in Thursday’s 13-2 win over the Royals at Tropicana Field.

Three Rays pitchers were working on a combined no-hitter, but Craig Kimbrel surrendered a two-run homer with one out in the ninth to Kansas City’s Carter Jensen. Casey Legumina (1 1/3 IP) and Ian Seymour (6 2/3 IP) had combined for the first eight hitless innings.

Caminero had a two-run blast in the first inning and a solo shot in the fifth, both off Royals starter Seth Lugo. In the eighth, with the game out of hand, Caminero had a three-run homer off shortstop Tyler Tolbert, who came in to pitch.

Caminero finished 3-for-5 with six RBIs. His 19 homers this season leads the team.
