PHOENIX -- With his 161st save in Los Angeles' 3-2 win over the D-backs at Chase Field on Wednesday, Kenley Jansen tied Eric Gagne for the Dodgers' franchise record.
Now, if he can just make an All-Star team.
"That's crazy," Gagne said of Jansen's All-Star slight. "He's always been amazing. I don't know why he doesn't get the hype the others get. He's such a good guy. It's fun to see him having this success, a guy I got to hang around with in Spring Training [as an instructor this year]. He deserves this. He's the best closer in history."
"It would be a travesty if he isn't [an All-Star] this year," manager Dave Roberts said. "I had no idea he never has [been one]."
"I'm sure he'll make it this year," Wednesday's winning pitcher Clayton Kershaw said. "At least 92 percent sure. Year after year, he's one of the most dominant closers in the game."

Jansen has a 1.71 ERA and 19 saves this season, two in his past two games, demonstrating he's turned the page on a blown save over the weekend in San Francisco.
"That's awesome," Jansen said of tying the mark. "In this organization, being a part of Dodger history is awesome. Definitely, it doesn't get out of your mind. I just try to do the same thing, save games and help the team win."
