OAKLAND -- Khris Davis was back in action Sunday, launching home runs this way and that during a round of batting practice at the Coliseum. It was Davis' first BP session since landing on the disabled list with a right groin strain on Monday. The A's designated hitter felt just as he looked. "Like 100 percent," said Davis, who is also doing running drills.

Davis, who leads the A's with 13 home runs, is eligible to be activated Thursday. "I think we're making our way with him," A's manager Bob Melvin said. "Whether or not it's on the 10th day, I'm not sure yet, but he looks pretty good. "He even took the lineup card out yesterday, so he's making progress." Worth noting
• Paul Blackburn (right forearm strain) threw four innings in extended spring training on Friday and is expected to get up to 60 pitches in a rehab start with Class-A Advanced Stockton this week. • Right-hander Andrew Triggs (right triceps strain) is "on the verge of" beginning a throwing program, while lefty Brett Anderson (left shoulder strain) remains shut down. • Right-hander Chris Bassitt, recalled Saturday, was optioned back to Triple-A just 24 hours later to make room for Sunday's starter Frankie Montas.
