Ng makes International Women's Day playlist

JUPITER, Fla. -- In honor of International Women's Day, Marlins general manager Kim Ng curated an Apple Music playlist.

According to the description for "Kim Ng: Visionary Women," the 41-song playlist feels like a tour of women's empowerment through the decades. The eclectic collection of anthems features everything from Lady Gaga's 2008 hit "Just Dance" to Aretha Franklin's 1967 classic "Respect."

Ng became the first woman to become an MLB general manager in November, and she is also believed to be the first woman hired as a GM by any major professional men's team in North American sports.

Earlier in the spring, MLB.com asked Ng on a Zoom call what sort of activities she had planned to detox during her first Spring Training at the helm.

"I started running a few days ago, got back on that," Ng had said. "Last summer I was doing a lot of hiking. I went on a 30-mile backpacking trek to Maine. I definitely had to get back on that track, so I started running again. Took a walk on the beach the other night just to clear the head a bit. I've got my tennis racket down here. I've got to find somebody who's willing on that front."

Perhaps some of these songs are on Ng's regular running playlist.
