LOS ANGELES -- MLB Network will celebrate Kirk Gibson's 63rd birthday today with a full day of programming featuring highlights of his career, focusing on his World Series adventures with the Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Programming begins at 3 a.m. PT with Game 5 of the 1984 World Series, in which Gibson homered twice as the Tigers clinched their championship against the San Diego Padres.

Gibson, of course, eclipsed those heroics in 1988, and his legendary walk-off winner in Game 1 against Dennis Eckersley and the A's will be aired twice, at 6 a.m. and again at 8 p.m.

Although Gibson was sidelined the rest of that series, Games 2, 4 and 5 will follow. At 2:30 p.m., MLB Network will air "MLB's 20 Greatest Games: 1988 World Series Game 1," which will go in depth in the behind-the-scenes action that led to Gibson's dramatic moment.

At 4 p.m., MLB Network will present "Only in Hollywood." Narrated by award-winning actor, Hollywood native and lifelong Dodgers fan Bryan Cranston, the film features new interviews with Gibson, Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda, 1982 Ford C. Frick Award winner Vin Scully, 2018 Ford C. Frick Award winner Bob Costas and many members of the 1988 Dodgers reliving in detail Los Angeles' dramatic -- and at times improbable -- journey to winning its sixth World Series title in franchise history.

And at 7 p.m., MLB Network will air "Walk-off Stories: Improbably Gibson." This film provides unique footage and insightful interviews from players, coaches, broadcasters and fans, including Gibson, Eckersley, Orel Hershiser, Scully and Dave Stewart.
