Bryant OK after exiting with tight calf

CHICAGO -- left the Cubs' 8-3 win over the Phillies on Tuesday night after the eighth inning with a tight calf, but said he's fine and expects no lingering issue.

He was correct. Bryant was in the Cubs' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, batting second as usual. Since going 0-for-14 in the first three games of the season, he was slashing .333/.435/.633 with five home runs, 15 RBIs and 19 runs scored in his last 23 games.
Bryant received his National League Most Valuable Player Award in an on-field ceremony before the game. Cubs great Ryne Sandberg presented the trophy.
