BALTIMORE -- The Orioles' biggest move of the offseason wasn't adding a new face, as the organization signed first baseman Chris Davis to a record seven-year, $161 million deal to keep him in Baltimore. The O's also were able to retain free agents Matt Wieters and Darren O'Day, moves that have dominated -- along with Davis --  the team's headlines.
But there will be some new faces in Sarasota, Fla., over the next few weeks, hoping to make their mark and win an Opening Day roster spot. In continuation of MLB.com's Spring Training preview, let's take a closer look at some of the new guys:
OF/DH Mark Trumbo: The Orioles acquired the 30-year-old Trumbo in an Dec. 2 trade with the Mariners, and the right-handed power bat should fare well in hitter-friendly Camden Yards. Trumbo, who will become a free agent at the end of the season, figures to see some time at designated hitter and the outfield. He's also another option behind Davis at first.

OF Hyun Soo Kim: Not a whole lot is known about Kim, a left-handed hitter who's impressive on-base percentage helped him land a two-year, $7 million deal just before Christmas. Kim, 28, played last season with the Doosan Bears in the Korean Baseball Organization. He joins other new outfielders Joey Rickard and Efren Navarro -- along with several non-roster invitees -- as the candidates for a corner outfield spot.
C Francisco Pena: Baltimore acquired Pena on the same day it traded catcher Steve Clevenger to Seattle in the Trumbo deal. Pena, who was with the Royals organization, gives the O's catching depth beyond Wieters and Caleb Joseph.

RHP Vance Worley: The 28-year-old was claimed off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates on Oct. 20, and he will compete for the fifth starter spot this spring. Worley posted a 4.02 ERA over 71 2/3 innings this past season between the rotation and the bullpen, and he could have a similar role with the Orioles. Worley joins Parker Bridwell, Chris Lee, Andrew Triggs -- a young trio protected from the Rule 5 Draft -- as new additions to the 40-man roster.
RHP Odrisamer Despaigne: Acquired Saturday in a trade with the Padres, Despaigne is another candidate to fill out the rotation. He posted a 5.80 ERA with San Diego last year, but he still has three Minor League options available to give the club flexibility. Despaigne could also be a long-relief candidate and figures to bounce between the Majors and Triple-A Norfolk.
