Marlins announce Spring Training schedule

November 2nd, 2017

MIAMI -- The World Series concluded on Wednesday night with the Astros defeating the Dodgers, 5-1, in Game 7. On Thursday, the Marlins launched into the offseason by announcing their 2018 Spring Training schedule.
Miami will begin its Grapefruit League season on Feb. 23 against the Cardinals at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Fla. And it won't take long for the Marlins to face the World Series champions. Houston will face Miami on Feb. 26 in Jupiter.
Under new ownership, led by Bruce Sherman and Derek Jeter, the Marlins will report for Spring Training on Feb. 14. The first day of workouts for pitchers and catchers will take place in the afternoon, following physicals in the morning. Full-squad workouts are set for Feb. 19, after morning physicals for position players.
The Marlins have made Roger Dean Stadium their Spring Training home since 2003, and they share the complex with the Cardinals. Miami will play 31 Grapefruit League games, with 15 at home.
Counting three road meetings with the Cardinals, the Marlins will play 18 times at Roger Dean Stadium. They will face St. Louis and Washington seven times apiece and the Astros and Mets six times apiece. The Red Sox will be at Roger Dean Stadium on March 9, and the Yankees on March 11.
The Marlins conclude their Spring Training schedule on March 25 with a split-squad day. They will be at home against the Astros at 1:05 p.m. ET and away at the Mets, with a 1:10 p.m. start.
Opening Day is March 29 against the Cubs at Marlins Park. Miami will be entering its third season with Don Mattingly as manager. The club's direction is still to be determined, as it is coming off a 77-85 season and expects to undergo some reshaping of the roster this offseason.
Individual tickets for all games in Jupiter, with the exception of those against the Red Sox and Yankees, will go on sale at 10 a.m. ET on Jan. 13, 2018. For more information on tickets, please visit marlins.com/spring.
