It's one of the biggest rivalries in baseball that's always full of intrigue. The Dodgers and Giants meet for the first time this season tonight at 10:15 p.m. ET on MLB.TV.
In the first game of a four-game set in San Francisco, Dodgers left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu takes the hill against Giants right-hander Player Page for Matt Cain.
Ryu's had a tough start to the season, going 0-3 with a 5.87 ERA. He allowed four runs on seven hits over six innings in his last start against the Rockies, taking the loss. This will mark Ryu's first start against the Giants since Sept. 12, 2014, having made only one regular-season start from 2015-16.
For the Giants, Cain is coming off back-to-back strong outings. He allowed one run on four hits in a season-high seven innings vs. the Royals, taking a no-decision. Over his last two starts, Cain has allowed two runs over 12 innings. He will enter Monday's start sporting a 3.31 ERA through his first three outings of the season.

The game also marks the return of former Giants closer Sergio Romo, making his first appearance at AT&T Park in Dodger Blue.
"I'm excited to go," he said. "I get to see my former teammates, these are my friends. Not only that, I spent 12 years in that organization, nine years in the big leagues, spent every day with these guys. They know when my birthday is. They know my kids and family on a personal level. I will never, ever forget those guys. It's a lifelong relationship. It's pretty dope. Maybe between the lines we're playing against each other, but it will be hard for me to keep that smile off my face when I get on that mound."

Vargas looks to continue hot start: KC @ CWS, 8:10 p.m.
Royals left-hander Jason Vargas is off to the best start of his career, going 3-0 with a 0.44 ERA in his first three starts. He's allowed just one run in 20 2/3 innings.
Vargas allowed four hits over seven innings vs. the Giants in his last start, and the southpaw hasn't given up a run in his previous two starts, during which he has allowed just eight hits over 14 2/3 innings.

"It's definitely nice for it to show up like it has," Vargas said. "It's nice to see some reward for the work that has been put in through Spring Training up until now. You couldn't ask for a better start to the season."
Not to be outdone, Miguel Gonzalez is coming off a masterpiece against the Yankees in his last start. He allowed one run over 8 1/3 innings, throwing just 88 pitches in the win. None of the four hits he allowed left the infield.
According to Statcast™, every hit by the Yankees had a hit probability of less than 25 percent. The Yankees also had just two batted balls with an exit velocity above 100 mph, and both of those were double plays.

Greinke tries to avenge loss: SD @ ARI, 9:40 p.m.
Jhoulys Chacin and Zack Greinke face each other in back-to-back starts after quite the pitchers duel last Wednesday, in which Chacin came away the victor.
Greinke's only mistake of the night came on a hanging 3-2 slider to Erick Aybar in the eighth inning. Aside from Aybar, no other Padres hitter reached second base. Greinke finished the night allowing five hits over eight impressive innings.

"The command was really good," Greinke said after the start. "Probably the best command I've had. That was a good thing."
Matching Greinke, Chacin tossed a brilliant eight innings against his former club, allowing three singles and retiring the final 14 batters he faced.
