Mets give behind-the-scenes peek on Snapchat

March 11th, 2016

VIERA, Fla. -- In celebration of MLB Snapchat Day, the Mets treated fans following their account to the story of Friday's 9-5 loss to the Nationals.
New York's story starts with Juan Lagares checking bats in the morning and a wish of "Happy Snapchat Day" from the Mr. Met logo.
The story moves to outfielder Alejandro De Aza and catcher Nevin Ashley chatting on the field. Shortly thereafter, outfielder Travis Taijeron prepared his batting gear.

The Mets then showed Snapchat users shots of their team stretching routine, starter Steven Matz watching from the top of the dugout and then Matz signing memorabilia for fans.
Lagares continued his examination of bats in a soft-toss session on video. He wound up going 1-for-3 with an RBI single in the top of the third.
From there, the Mets showcased players hanging out in the dugout before the game and a brief video of Travis d'Arnaud taking batting practice. Like Matz, Wilmer Flores gave a signed baseball to a lucky youngster, which came next via video.
The pregame portion of the story ended with the starting lineup and #LGM.
New York finished its celebration of MLB Snapchat Day with a video of Matz addressing reporters and a photo of shortstop Ruben Tejada doing the same.
