ARLINGTON -- The Rangers will honor former All-Star infielder Michael Young by retiring his No. 10 jersey before Saturday’s game against the Mariners. The ceremony will begin at 6:40 p.m. CT, and first pitch has been moved back from 30 minutes to 7:35 p.m. at Globe Life Park.

Young will become the sixth Rangers player to have his number retired and hanging from the upper deck facade in left field. He joins Nolan Ryan (No. 34), Ivan Rodriguez (7), Adrian Beltre (29) and the late manager Johnny Oates (26) to be recognized. The Rangers have also joined all MLB clubs in retiring Jackie Robinson’s No. 42.

Former All-Star catcher Jim Sundberg, who is in the Rangers Hall of Fame, also wore the No. 10 during his time in Texas.

Beltre and Rodriguez will be among the former Rangers attending Young's ceremony. Speakers will include Mark DeRosa, Rangers Hall of Famer Tom Grieve and Arlington mayor Jeff Williams. Other attendees will include Eddie Guardado, Colby Lewis, Darren Oliver, David Murphy, Brandon McCarthy, Vernon Wells and Jamey Wright. Broadcaster Eric Nadel will serve as master of ceremonies.

Young was with the Rangers from 2000-12 before finishing his career in '13 with the Phillies and Dodgers. He was a seven-time All-Star for Texas, the American League batting champion in '05 and a five-time Player of the Year for the club. He also won the '06 All-Star Game MVP Award.

Off the field, Young was a two-time winner of the Marvin Miller Man of the Year Award from the MLB Players Association, and the '10 winner of the Jim Sundberg Community Achievement Award.
