Dec. 11, 2025 – MLB Network announced the debut of a new offseason weekly series, Pack In Time, hosted by MLB Network’s Greg Amsinger, premiering this Sunday, Dec. 14 at 1:30 p.m. ET. Each 30-minute episode, set to air every Sunday, brings fans a fresh, nostalgic twist on baseball storytelling as Amsinger, an avid baseball card collector, pulls from a stack of cards to reveal which former MLB player he will sit down with that week.
The first three episodes will feature seven-time All-Star slugger Nelson Cruz on Dec. 14, two-time All-Star shortstop and former No. 1 overall draft pick Shawon Dunston on Dec. 21 and three-time Gold Glove center fielder and 2001 All-Star Mike Cameron on Dec. 28. Each new episode will be available on MLB Network’s YouTube page following its on-air debut.
On Pack In Time, Amsinger said, “Growing up, I loved collecting baseball cards. There was history in every pack. Now imagine pulling a few from the deck and having a real-life conversation with some of your cardboard heroes? ‘Pack in Time’ is a baseball fantasy come to life!”
The cards serve as a fun mechanism to launch a “where-they-are-now”-style interview with one non-active and non-Hall of Fame player per episode, spotlighting names baseball fans will recognize, but may not have heard in a long time. Amsinger leads each episode by picking up a random stack of cards, flipping through them and landing on the guest he will be talking to. The result is a personality-driven conversation filled with untold stories, updates and reflections from players whose careers left a lasting imprint on baseball fans.
Pack in Time joins new 2025 Countdown Shows, MLB Network Presents, MLB’s 20 Greatest Games, All-Time Games, Baseball’s Seasons and Studio 42 with Bob Costas as featured programming across MLB Network leading up to the start of Spring Training. Hot Stove, the Emmy Award-winning MLB Tonight, The Leadoff Spot and the MLB Network Podcast continue to cover the latest offseason news.
Amsinger has been an MLB Network host since its launch in 2009, playing a key role in MLB Tonight winning the national sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Daily Studio Show eight times. In 2025, Amsinger, Harold Reynolds and Dan Plesac revamped the early edition of MLB Tonight to the National Pregame Show, getting fans set every night for all the action across the country. In addition to MLB Tonight, Amsinger has played a noteworthy role in MLB Network’s coverage of several events, including National Baseball Hall of Fame Election and Induction Day, the All-Star Red Carpet Show, Trade Deadline Day, BBWAA Awards Week and the Winter Meetings.
