LOS ANGELES -- It sure feels like the Dodgers have flipped a switch.
The Dodgers capped off a three-game sweep of the Nationals with a come-from-behind 7-5 victory on Sunday night at Dodger Stadium. Mookie Betts played the hero in the series finale, smacking a go-ahead three-run homer in the eighth inning.
L.A. has won four straight on the heels of a stretch in which it lost six of eight.
Entering the eighth inning, the Nationals held a one-run lead and looked to be on their way to salvaging the finale. Washington left-hander Will Dion came out for his second inning of work and got two quick outs to open the frame.
But Alex Call extended the inning with a base hit from the nine-hole. Fill-in leadoff hitter Tommy Edman drew a walk. In the home dugout, Shohei Ohtani -- out of the starting lineup for the fourth straight game -- was stirring, but Betts made it so that the Dodgers did not need to call on him.
Dion left a 1-0 fastball over the plate, and Betts crushed it over the left-field fence, an emphatic swing that turned the tables on the Nationals.
