WASHINGTON -- After playing three rehab games for Class A Potomac, Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman had the day off on Sunday. However, he traveled with the Nationals to Cleveland after Sunday's game against the Padres and was activated in time to play in Tuesday's game against the Indians.
Left-hander Sammy Solís was also activated from the DL on Tuesday.
"I feel good. It was good to go down there and get some at-bats. I'll be ready to come back, help this team in the second half and get going," Zimmerman said.
Zimmerman spent several weeks on the disabled list because of a left rib cage strain. He hurt the rib cage on July 6 against the Brewers, a game in which he went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Zimmerman now says he is 100 percent. In three rehab games for Class A Potomac, Zimmerman went 5-for-12 (.417) with a home run and five RBIs.
Worth noting
The Nationals optioned right-hander Koda Glover to Triple-A Syracuse and recalled baseball's No. 1 prospect, right-hander Lucas Giolito.

Glover, the Nationals' 19th-best prospect according to MLBPipeline.com, gave a good impression during his brief time in Washington. He pitched two shutout innings and allowed one hit.
Giolito got the start in Sunday's series finale against the Padres.
