The Philadelphia Phillies entered September 2022 with a 73-58 record and in control of a Wild Card spot.

The Phillies enter this September with a 74-59 record and in control of a Wild Card spot.

While their playoff outlook is nearly identical, the NL pennant interest of BetMGM bettors is almost 60% higher.

Entering September 2022, the Phillies (+1400) had the fifth-highest handle share (8.1%) in NL pennant betting among the six teams in possession of a playoff spot. Despite 22 wins in 30 games, they were commanding approximately one in every 12 dollars bet on the NL champion.

Entering this September, the Phillies (+850) have the second-highest handle share (12.8%) among the six teams in possession of a playoff spot. With 19 wins in 30 games, they are commanding approximately one in every eight dollars bet on the NL champion.

But not only is the year-over-year interest higher in another Phillies’ World Series appearance, the week-over-week interest has consistently grown, unlike last year and unlike that for the Atlanta Braves.

While the Braves (+140) have the highest handle share among all teams, the public’s interest in the club’s second World Series berth in the past three years hasn’t increased each week since mid-July, as is the case with the Phillies.

Since the All-Star break, either the Phillies’ NL pennant ticket or handle share has increased each week. There has been no decrease in week-over-week share for either tickets or handle since the week before the break.
