This college baseball player's slide is epic

March 6th, 2021

A college baseball player channeled Keanu Reeves in “The Matrix” to dodge a tag at home plate on Friday night at O’Brate Stadium in Stillwater, Okla.

After Grand Canyon University pitcher Keaton Glover uncorked a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning, catcher Josh Buckley got a favorable bounce off the brick backstop and prepared to apply the tag on Oklahoma State University’s Noah Sifrit, who was racing home from third base.

But Sifrit pulled off a nifty popup slide, stopping short and momentarily taking flight above Buckley’s glove before reaching down to touch home plate as he sailed over it.

Sifrit’s spectacular slide was part of an 11-5 win for the undefeated Cowboys, who placed 15th on D1baseball.com’s national rankings entering this week.
