June 10th, 2021

Top-seeded Oklahoma rallied to defeat No. 10 Florida State, 6-2, in Game 2 of the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, setting up a winner-take-all showdown on Thursday.

After cruising to an 8-4 win in Game 1, the Seminoles jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on Wednesday after Elizabeth Mason crushed a two-run homer in the first inning.

Oklahoma got on the board in the third, when Jana Johns connected for a leadoff homer to cut the lead to one. It would stay that way until the Sooners' offense erupted in the sixth.

After Oklahoma's leadoff batter reached on an error, Jocelyn Alo teed off for a go-ahead two-run homer. Her teammates followed with four consecutive singles to plate two more runs in a four-run sixth inning. The Sooners added an insurance run in the seventh, with Alo hitting a leadoff single and eventually coming in to score on a sacrifice fly.

The decisive Game 3 will be played at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday on ESPN. Florida State is eyeing its second Women's College World Series title (the first came in 2018), while Oklahoma has taken home the trophy four times, including three of the last seven.
