BALTIMORE-- Orioles right-hander Tyler Wilson was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk before Monday's game against the Twins, adding a fresh arm to the bullpen.
Scratched from his most recent Triple-A game, Wilson is 2-1 with a 4.91 ERA in six games (one start) with the O's this season. He had a 4.87 ERA in four starts with the Tides.
Wilson takes the spot of Miguel Castro, who was optioned to Double-A Bowie following Sunday's 3-1 loss to Toronto. Castro, who was recalled last week, pitched three scoreless innings over two appearances and made a favorable impression in his O's debut.

"He was close by and throwing well," manager Buck Showalter said of the decision to recall Castro from Double-A. "Kind of a guy who was [initially] fast-tracked to the big leagues and missed Double-A altogether. He's only 22. So, basically he's like a college senior … [he's going to be] very similar to what's going on with [O's No. 10 prospect] Tanner Scott, where he's pitching three and four innings with a work day in between. He's an interesting case."
Wilson, who was available over the weekend if there was a need, will give the O's some length over the next few days. While Baltimore would have liked to have two lefties in the 'pen, Showalter said the club feels this is currently the best option.
Worth noting
• Ryan Flaherty, who was placed on the disabled list with a right shoulder strain Sunday, will received a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection in the area. Flaherty will head to Sarasota, Fla., to rehab and will be out longer than the 10-day period.
• Zach Britton (left forearm) continues to progress, playing catch from longer distances. He's right on schedule, said Showalter.
• Gabriel Ynoa (right hamstring) is close to pitching in a game. He was reinstated Monday and optioned to Triple-A.
