BALTIMORE -- Orioles Minor League pitcher Zack Dodson has received a 100-game suspension without pay after a third positive test for a drug of abuse, MLB announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Dodson's suspension will begin at the start of the 2016 season. He's currently on the roster of the Orioles' Double-A Bowie affiliate. Dodson, a left-hander, was signed to a Minor League deal in December. A former fourth-round pick in the 2009 Draft, he spent the past seven seasons in the Pirates' organization.
Dodson pitched to a 3.67 ERA in 162 innings for Double-A Altoona last year, striking out 89 and walking 36.
