PHILADELPHIA -- After a long offseason, the Phillies are finally gearing up to head to Clearwater, Fla., next week to kick off another season that begins with World Series aspirations.
Here’s what you need to know as the Phillies open camp.
When is the first workout for pitchers and catchers?
Feb. 11 at Carpenter Complex.
What is the date of the first full-squad workout?
Feb. 16.
Where is the team’s facility?
The Phillies play their Grapefruit League games at BayCare Ballpark, which has been their Spring Training home since 2004. They have called Clearwater home since 1947.
Before games begin, however, the Phils work out next door at Carpenter Complex, which is the Phillies’ Minor League training facility. There are four fields there: Mike Schmidt Field, Steve Carlton Field, Robin Roberts Field and Richie Ashburn Field.
The Phillies often use all four fields for drills, batting practice, etc.
Can fans attend workouts?
Of course, and the workouts are free to attend.
Workout times vary by day, but they typically begin mid-to-late morning and run through early afternoon.
Who are some new faces fans should know?
The Phillies signed veteran outfielder Adolis García this offseason with the expectation he will be the club’s starting right fielder in 2026. Philadelphia also has a bunch of new arms in the bullpen, highlighted by Brad Keller (signed to a two-year, $22 million deal) and Jonathan Bowlan (acquired in the Matt Strahm trade). Among the other newcomers expected to compete for relief roles are Chase Shugart, Zach Pop, Zach McCambley, Yoniel Curet and Kyle Backhus.
Who are some of the top prospects invited to Major League camp?
Each of the Phillies’ top three prospects will be in camp this spring: Aidan Miller (MLB Pipeline’s No. 23 overall prospect), Andrew Painter (No. 28) and Justin Crawford (No. 53). Painter is expected to compete for a spot in the Phillies’ Opening Day rotation, while Crawford has the inside track toward earning the club’s center-field job.
When is the team’s first Grapefruit League game?
The Phillies open their spring schedule at 1 p.m. ET on Feb. 21 against the Blue Jays at TD Ballpark in Dunedin.
What are a few other notable spring games?
The Phillies will host their first home game of the spring at 1 p.m. ET on Feb. 22 against the Pirates at BayCare Ballpark. One of the highlights of the spring will come on March 4, when the Phils face off with Team Canada in an exhibition leading up to the World Baseball Classic.
What is Spring Breakout and when is the game?
Spring Breakout highlights tomorrow’s stars across all 30 organizations. This year, the Phillies will play a pair of Spring Breakout games. The first will come against the Twins’ top prospects at 1 p.m. ET on March 19 in Fort Myers, Fla., while the second will be at 1 p.m. ET on March 21 against the Blue Jays’ prospects in Clearwater.
Will the team’s games be televised?
NBC Sports Philadelphia typically broadcasts approximately a dozen of the Phillies’ home games each spring, although no announcement has been made. (The network typically does not broadcast road games.) The Phillies also broadcast most road games on SportsRadio 94WIP or MLB.com.
When is the club’s last game in Florida?
The Phillies wrap up their Spring Training schedule at noon ET on March 23 against the Rays at BayCare Ballpark.
Will there be any additional exhibitions before the regular season?
