Pipeline preview: Weaver takes hill for Double-A Springfield

Here's a look at top prospects to watch in Monday's Minor League action:
Hitter to watch: Mark Zagunis (Cubs' No. 18), Iowa vs. Salt Lake (8:08 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Zagunis connected on his fifth home run for Triple-A Iowa on Sunday, and he's gone deep nine times in 89 games this season including his time with Double-A Tennessee. The 2014 third-rounder has hit .290 with 37 extra-base hits, 44 RBIs and 53 runs between the two levels.
Pitcher to watch: Luke Weaver (Cardinals' No. 3), Springfield vs. Arkansas (Doubleheader Game 2, MiLB.TV)
Weaver scuffled for the first time this season in his most recent start for Double-A Springfield, when he allowed four earned runs on nine hits over 5 1/3 innings against Northwest Arkansas. The 22-year-old right-hander still managed to strike out eight and walk just one, giving him an impressive 57-7 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 48 2/3 frames (eight starts) for the season. Weaver is 4-2 with a 1.48 ERA for the Cardinals.

Duel of the day: (Reds' No. 4) vs. (Indians' No. 7), Louisville at Columbus (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Garrett, No. 59 on the Top 100, is set to make his first start following his outing for the U.S. squad in the SiriusXM Futures Game. The 24-year-old southpaw has pitched to a 2.89 ERA across three outings for Triple-A Louisville since being promoted from Double-A Pensacola, where he had dominated to the tune of a 1.75 ERA with zero home runs allowed over 13 appearances (12 starts), all the while holding opposing hitters to a .184 average.

Clevinger has been excellent for Triple-A Columbus this season, going 9-0 in 14 starts and posting a 2.72 ERA over 76 frames. The 25-year-old righty has fanned 83, and he enters the day having punched out at least six hitters in four straight turns.
