The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced that catcher Omar Alfonzo, right-handed pitcher Noah Davis, right-handed pitcher Chris Devenski (pronounced “deh-VEHN-ski”), infielder Duce Gourson, infielder/outfielder Konnor Griffin, infielder Termarr Johnson and catcher Shawn Ross will attend 2026 Major League camp as non-roster invitees.
Alfonzo hit a combined .243 (98-for-404) with 18 doubles, 14 homers, 56 RBI, 63 walks and 56 runs in 116 games split between High-A Greensboro and Double-A Altoona last season. The 22-year-old ranked second among all Pirates farmhands in walks, tied for sixth in homers and 10th in hits, RBI and total bases (160).
Davis, who pitched 11.0 combined innings across nine outings with Los Angeles (NL) and Minnesota in 2025, also tossed 51.1 innings in 18 appearances (six starts) with Colorado from 2022-24. The 28-year-old also went 4-0 with three saves and a 3.88 ERA (48.2ip/21er) in 35 Triple-A games (two starts) last season.
Devenski had a 2.16 ERA (16.2ip/4er) in 13 games (one start) with New York (NL) in 2025, while also having a 3.35 ERA (37.2ip/14er) with Syracuse (Mets’ Triple-A). Devenski, who was an American League All-Star and World Series winner with Houston in 2017, has a career 3.91 ERA with Houston (2016-20), Arizona (2021-22), Philadelphia (2022), Los Angeles-AL (2023), Tampa Bay (2023-24) and New York-NL (2025).
Gourson batted a combined .275 (92-for-335) with 21 doubles, 10 home runs, 38 RBI, 40 walks, 31 stolen bases and an .809 OPS in 95 games split between Greensboro and Altoona last season. The 23-year-old was named the organization’s Omar Moreno Baserunner of the Year during Young Bucs Awards Week in 2025 after ranking seventh among Pirates minor leaguers in steals (he was caught stealing just three times).
The 19-year-old Griffin was honored as the Baseball America Minor League Player of the Year and is currently rated by Baseball America and MLB Pipeline as the top prospect in baseball after hitting a combined .333 (161-for-484) with 23 doubles, 21 homers, 94 RBI, 50 walks, 65 steals, 117 runs and a .942 OPS in 122 games split between Low-A Bradenton, Greensboro and Altoona in 2025, his first professional season.
Griffin’s 65 stolen bases in his debut season were the most by any Pirates minor leaguer since Pedro Powell (67) in 2007, while his 117 runs scored were the most by a Pittsburgh farmhand since Robbie Grossman (127) in 2011. He ranked second among all players in Minor League Baseball in runs scored, fifth in both hits and total bases (255), tied for seventh in RBI and tied for eighth in stolen bases, while also ranking fourth among all full-season minor league players in batting and seventh in OPS.
Johnson hit .272 (118-for-434) with 15 doubles, nine homers, 35 RBI, 59 walks, 20 stolen bases and 67 runs in 119 games with Altoona last season. The 21-year-old Johnson, who was selected by Pittsburgh in the first round (fourth overall) of the 2022 First-Year Player Draft, was tied for third among Pirates farmhands in walks, tied for fourth in hits, sixth in runs, and seventh in total bases (166), while also ranking sixth among full-season players in batting. He is currently the ninth-best second base prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
Ross appeared in 68 games between Altoona and Triple-A Indianapolis in 2025. He hit 37 home runs with Greensboro over his first two professional seasons (2023-24). The 26-year-old Ross’ 23 home runs during the 2024 campaign were tied with Matt Gorski for the most among all Pirates minor league players.
