Not one but two Pirates prospects hit for the cycle on Tuesday night as both Kevin Newman and Jacob Stallings completed the feat in Triple-A Indianapolis' 12-5 win over Lehigh Valley.

Both players completed their cycle in the eighth inning, as Newman, the Pirates' No. 7 prospect, connected on a home run before Stallings delivered a triple three batters later. No teammates have ever hit for the cycle in a Major League game, but it's happened twice in the Minors over the past few months. Back in April, Gio Brusa and Jalen Miller accomplished the feat for Class A Advanced San Jose.

Newman's homer, a solo shot, marked his career-best fifth hit of the night. The 25-year-old infielder finished the game 5-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs as he became the first Indianapolis player to hit for the cycle since Josh Bell (April 22, 2016).
Newman doubled to left field in the first inning and then added a single in the third. He hit a two-out triple two innings later, and then plated a pair when he laced his second double of the game in the sixth. In his final trip to the plate, Newman went deep for his fourth home run of the season.

Stallings doubled, homered and singled in his first three trips to the plate, respectively, but grounded out to first base to lead off the seventh inning. Needing to hit a triple to complete his cycle, the 28-year-old catcher did just that, lacing a ball into the right-center-field gap for his first triple since 2015. He finished the game 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs.
Newman improved his season average to .306 with his perfect night at the plate, and he's now collected multiple hits three times during his five-game hitting streak. Stallings, meanwhile, sports a .290 average after recording his second four-hit game of the season.
