CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs, in partnership with Southwest Airlines®, today announced a new Legacy partnership, naming the airline the Official Airline Partner of the Cubs, Wrigley Field and Sloan Park.
“Rooted in a shared commitment to exceptional customer service and world-class experiences, the Cubs are thrilled to sign Southwest Airlines as our newest Legacy Partner,” said Cubs Vice President of Corporate Partnerships Alex Seyferth. “This partnership brings together two iconic brands, each known for their loyal fans, friendly spirit and commitment to community.”
As one of the world's most admired and awarded airlines, Southwest will have various sponsorship, activation and signage opportunities at both ballparks starting with the 2026 season. Most notably, the LUV® airline will transform the on-deck circles at both ballparks into the beloved Southwest heart and will rename the upper deck at Wrigley Field the “Southwest Airlines Deck” starting on Opening Day. Other signage elements include the on-field baseline signage and rotational signage behind home plate. A new in-game feature and community initiatives throughout the regular season will give fans a reason to cheer.
“Southwest Airlines has served the Chicago market for more than 40 years with our strong presence at Midway (MDW) and expansion at O’Hare (ORD), and we are thrilled to share our love for connecting people to places with Cubs fans,” said Southwest Airlines Vice President of Marketing Jennifer Bridie. “Together, we celebrate the passion for the Cubs, and we have a solid lineup of unforgettable moments planned for the season ahead as we take our Hospitality from the sky to the ballpark.”
The multiyear partnership also adds Cubs All-Star centerfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong as a Southwest Airlines ambassador and names the brand as presenting sponsor of several Wrigley Field gameday experiences and activities, including the Fan Services Booth and the First Timer’s Certificate location, Kids Sundays featuring the fan-favorite Kids Run the Bases, various gate giveaways throughout the regular season and more.
As a way to kick off the partnership and celebrate the airline’s new assigned seating launch later this month, Southwest Airlines will host a fan experience in front of the Wrigley Field Marquee this Saturday, January 10, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. CT, complete with special appearances from Crow-Armstrong, Pat Hughes and Clark the Cub, photo opportunities in front of an oversized Southwest seat as well as free skate rentals at Winterland at Gallagher Way and the opportunity to enter for a chance to win prizes, including tickets to Opening Day at Wrigley Field.
Season Ticket Holders can get a first look at the new partnership next weekend at Cubs Convention through the Southwest Club, located in the main lobby of the Sheraton Grand Chicago.
