The latest edition of MLBPipeline.com's Prospect Team of the Week (June 5 - 11) features a familiar name in Brendan Rodgers, whose potent bat has earned him a spot as the PTOW's shortstop for the third time in the last five weeks.
Rodgers hit safely in all six games last week for Class A Advanced Lancaster -- highlighted by his second career five-hit game on June 9 -- en route to extending his hitting streak to 19 games.
During that streak, the 20-year-old shortstop is hitting .443 with eight home runs, eight doubles and 23 RBIs.

C: Francisco Mejia, Cleveland Indians (Double-A)
(Indians' No. 2 prospect)/(MLB No. 35)

Mejia, 21, had never hit two home runs in a game before last week, when he did it twice in consecutive days for Double-A Akron. His 14 hits were tied for the most among Top 30 prospects, and his five home runs and 32 total bases both ranked second. Through 38 games, the switch-hitting backstop is leading the Eastern League in average (.369), slugging (.631) and OPS (1.043).

1B: D.J. Peterson, Tacoma Rainiers (Triple-A)
(Mariners' No. 9 prospect)

Peterson, the No. 12 overall pick in the 2013 Draft, finished his week on a three-game homer streak, as well as a six-game hitting streak, after going 0-for-3 at the plate on Monday. He ultimately led all Top 30 first baseman in hits (13), homers, runs scored and total bases (23). He's now hitting .264 after entering last week with a .233 clip.

2B: Drew Robinson, Round Rock Express (Triple-A)
(Rangers' No. 23 prospect)

The 2010 fourth-rounder had a monstrous week for the Express, as he paced all Top 30 prospects in hits (tied-14), total bases (37), home runs and RBIs. He turned in two mutli-homer performances while going deep in four of eight contests in a week that saw him hit seven of his nine homers so far this season.

3B: Colin Moran, Fresno Grizzlies (Triple-A)
(Astros' No. 23 prospect)

Moran, a first-round pick (No. 6 overall) by Miami in 2013, led all third basemen in home runs and OPS (1.327) last week while hitting safely in all six games for Fresno. He recorded his first multi-homer game of the year on Saturday and followed it with another homer on Sunday to push his season total to a career-high 12 homers through 49 games.

Rodgers paced all Top 30 shortstops in average, OPS (1.329), home runs and runs scored last week as he also finished tied for first in total bases (25) and ranked second in hits. For the season, the 2015 first-rounder (No. 3 overall) is pacing the California League in all three triple-slash categories, with a .402 average, .423 OBP and .707 slugging, and he's already collected 74 hits in 42 games.

OF: Ryan Cordell, Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Triple-A)

A 11th-round Draft pick by the Rangers in 2013, Cordell did much of his damage last week over the weekend, when he went 7-for-12 with three homers and eight RBIs in three games against Iowa. With a .294/.365/.529 batting line and 29 extra-base hits through 57 games, he could be the next Brewers outfield prospect to get a crack at the big leagues.
OF: Jesus Sanchez, Bowing Green Hot Rods (Class A)

Sanchez recorded multiple hits in all five games, including back-to-back three-hit performances to round out his week, as he raised his season average from .272 to .298. The toolsy 19-year-old outfielder has shown plenty of power too, with nine home runs and 23 extra-base hits in 52 games, and continues to exhibit an advanced approach (20 BB/ 39 K).
OF: Sam Hilliard, Lancaster JetHawks (Class A Advanced)

Hilliard, a 15th-rounder in 2015, capped his impressive week by homering in three straight games, during which he tallied 10 of his 11 RBIs. Like his Lancaster teammate Rodgers, the 23-year-old outfielder has put up big numbers in the California League this season, with a .313/.386/.540 slash line, 11 home runs, 49 RBIs and 16 steals in 59 games.
LHP: Bernardo Flores, Kannapolis Intimidators (Class A)

1-0, 1.59 ERA, 2 GS, 11 1/3 IP, 9 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 10 K, 3 HBP, 0.79 WHIP
A seventh-round pick in 2016 out of USC, Flores hurled six scoreless frames with five hits and seven strikeouts in his first start last week, a no-decision against Lakewood. He didn't fare as well in his next turn, when he allowed two earned runs on four hits in 5 1/3 innings, though it did net the 21-year-old southpaw his sixth win in 12 starts this season.
RHP: Mike Soroka, Mississippi Braves (Double-A)
(Braves' No. 4 prospect)/(MLB No. 66)
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 GS, 15 IP, 7 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 13 K, 0.47 WHIP
Soroka, whom the Braves' selected 28th overall in 2015, is making his first PTOW appearance after he posted 15 scoreless innings across two starts. The 19-year-old righty allowed just seven hits (six singles) and recorded 13 strikeouts without issuing a walk between the two outings. He's been anything but overmatched this season in the Southern League, going 7-3 with a 2.45 ERA and 0.98 WHIP through 12 starts.

RP: Jimmy Sherfy, Reno Aces (Triple-A)
(D-backs' No. 13 prospect)
2 SV, 0.00 ERA, 3 G, 3 2/3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 0.00 WHIP
Sherfy went 2-for-2 in save chances while working 3 2/3 perfect frames over three appearances for Reno. He struck out six of the 11 batters he faced and did not permit a baserunner in that span. The 2013 10th-rounder has been a late-inning force this season, posting seven saves (in eight chances) with a 1.54 ERA, a .150 opponents' average and a 31-to-2 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 23 1/3 innings (21 games).
