SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Rangers center fielder Carlos Gomez left Tuesday's 4-3 victory over the White Sox with a jammed left shoulder.
The Rangers don't think it's serious but will know more after further examination on Wednesday.
"He has good strength in the shoulder," manager Jeff Banister said. "I don't have a high level of concern until I get more information from our trainers tomorrow. But he had good strength in the shoulder."
Gomez injured the shoulder in the fifth inning after a hitting a drive off the wall in right-center. Gomez turned it into a triple and injured the shoulder sliding awkwardly into the base.
He was immediately replaced by pinch-runner Cesar Puello. Delino DeShields is the Rangers backup center fielder and took over there after Gomez departed. Jurickson Profar had been playing center for the Netherlands in the World Baseball Classic and is expected to rejoin the Rangers on Wednesday.
