Rangers-Tribe PPD Tuesday; twin bill today
CLEVELAND -- If the Rangers are to complete their three-game sweep of Indians, the last two wins will have to happen in one day.
The Rangers' matchup against the Indians scheduled for Tuesday night at Progressive Field was postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a traditional doubleheader, starting Wednesday at 12:10 p.m. CT.
Ariel Jurado (6-6, 4.92 ERA) will go against Zach Plesac (6-3, 3.41 ERA) in the first game in a battle of Tuesday’s scheduled starters. As for the second game, the Rangers will send out Lance Lynn (14-6, 3.71 ERA), while the Indians plan to rely on their bullpen to carry the load.
The Rangers have an off-day Thursday before traveling to Milwaukee for a three-game series against the Brewers. Manager Chris Woodward announced earlier Tuesday that the club is planning on calling up Kolby Allard for Friday’s matchup.
