Rangers rained out in NY on Friday, to play DH on Sunday

May 6th, 2022

The Texas Rangers’ scheduled game on Friday night against the Yankees in New York has been postponed due to the forecast of sustained inclement weather. The game is scheduled to be made up as part of a traditional doubleheader on Sunday, May 8, beginning at 12:35 p.m. CT.

This is the first rainout for the Rangers since Aug. 22, 2021, at Boston, which was postponed due to Hurricane Henri. The club’s last doubleheader was on July 18, 2021 at Toronto (in Buffalo), although those were 7-inning contests. Sunday would be the Rangers’ first doubleheader with a pair of 9-inning games since August 20, 2019 vs. Los Angeles-AL, with the last road instance coming on August 7, 2019 at Cleveland.
