ARLINGTON -- Mike Napoli hit a three-run home run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Rangers a 5-2 victory over the Padres at Globe Life Park on Thursday night. The Rangers won three straight over the Padres after losing the first of their four-game home-and-home series.
Napoli hit two home runs on the night after bringing a .160 batting average into the game. It was the fourth walk-off and 15th multi-homer game of his career.
"That's the way we fight," Napoli said. "It was a lot of fun, it was nice to contribute after the way things have been going."

The Rangers' rally against Padres closer Brandon Maurer began with a one-out single by Elvis Andrus. Jonathan Lucroy followed with a shallow fly ball into center that Manuel Margot couldn't get to with a diving attempt. Andrus raced to third on the play.
Rougned Odor tied the game with a single through the left side, moving pinch-runner Joey Gallo to second.
"He made a mistake to Andrus in the middle of the plate -- didn't hit his spot there," Padres manager Andy Green said. "The Lucroy ball, that's usually caught and [Odor hit it] through the six-hole. … A swinging bat's a dangerous bat sometimes."

That brought up Napoli, who hit a 3-1 pitch into the left-field seats for a three-run home run.
It was the first blown save of the season for Maurer. Padres starter Clayton Richard, leading 2-0, took a three-hit shutout into the eighth but Napoli made it a one-run game with a home run. He hit a bigger one in the ninth.
"It was an amazing win, especially the way it ended with Lucroy, Odor and Napoli," Andrus said. "Those are the guys we want to get hot and carry the team. We are just trying to get on and let them drive us in. It was a really good team win."

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Andrus baserunning pays off: Andrus almost ran into a double play in the ninth inning. He was running all the way on Lucroy's single, which was nearly caught by Margot. But the ball dropped and he was able to get to third with one out.
"I saw they were playing no doubles," Andrus said. "The ball started floating. I thought it would be easy first and third. Those guys over there are young and fast. I don't know what they are eating or drinking. They almost caught it."
Kozma stops big inning: The Padres had Austin Hedges at second and Hunter Renfroe at first with one out in the seventh when Luis Sardinas ripped a ground ball down the third-base line. Pete Kozma made a tremendous diving stop and raced Hedges to the bag. Hedges won the race with a headfirst slide, although he got spiked squarely on the right hand by Kozma. Hedges stayed in the game and scored on Margot's sacrifice fly. But Kozma's play spared the Rangers a bigger inning.
Hedges wasn't seriously injured, though trainers did run out to check him out after the play.
"He got spiked, a little bit of blood, but he was fine," Green said.

The Padres challenged the safe call on Carlos Gomez's stolen base in the eighth inning. After review, the call on the field stood.

WHAT'S NEXT
Padres:Jhoulys Chacin, the Padres' Opening Day starter, will take on the White Sox in Chicago at 5:10 p.m. PT on Friday. Chacin has fared better lately than at first, allowing four earned runs in his last 10 1/3 innings, but his walks have remained a problem. He's issued 15 free passes in 39 1/3 innings this season.
Rangers: Right-hander Andrew Cashner pitches for the Rangers and he'll be looking for his first win when he faces the Athletics at 7:05 p.m. CT Friday at Globe Life Park. This will be the first of a three-game series between two teams that are 3-3 against each other this season and 41-41 since the beginning of 2013.
