ARLINGTON -- Spring Training did not result in a clear winner on who will play left field for the Rangers this season.
Manager Jeff Banister said Delino DeShields, Ryan Rua and Jurickson Profar will all play out there. That's the message Banister gave to all three individually on Sunday morning at Globe Life Park.
"I told them that they all deserve to be out there, based on their body of work and how they competed out there," Banister said. "They were all winners in my eyes. We're looking to find the best matchups. Early on, all three will play, and I can see all three being in the lineup at the same time."
Banister said lineups will be determined daily. The composition will depend on multiple factors, including the opposing pitcher and the Rangers' own health and workload concerns.
Banister is determined to use the Rangers' roster versatility to maximum advantage. DeShields, Profar and Rua can all play multiple positions, and so can Drew Robinson. He made the team partly on his ability to play seven positions.

DeShields may have had the best spring of any Rangers player. He finished with a .323 average, a .442 on-base percentage and a Major League-high 14 stolen bases.
He also spent the spring hitting mainly in the leadoff spot, but Banister said that role hasn't been determined.
"Delino has convinced me he is a leadoff hitter," Banister said. "Hitting leadoff is in his DNA. There are a couple of different ways he can be a leadoff hitter. He can be a leadoff hitter in the ninth spot."
Beltre disappointed on DL
Third baseman Adrian Beltre is starting the season on the disabled list with a tight right hamstring, and that's hard to accept for him.
"It's a little disappointing not being able to start the season," Beltre said. "But like I was told, it's better to wait a week or so rather than losing 6-8 weeks. I definitely could probably play, but I don't want to make it worse."

Beltre is eligible to come off the disabled list as early as Sunday. He said that is the goal.
Rangers beat
• Rain canceled the Rangers' workout on Sunday, but right-hander Tyson Ross threw two innings and 30 pitches in an indoor simulated game.
• The Rangers will have eight players experiencing their first Major League Opening Day: pitchers Alex Claudio, Jose Leclerc, Dario Alvarez, Matt Bush and Mike Hauschild, infielders Drew Robinson and Joey Gallo, and outfielder Nomar Mazara.
• Third-base coach Tony Beasley prepared for his Opening Day assignment of performing "The Star-Spangled Banner" with a practice rendition in the pouring rain. Yes, Beasley was singin' in the rain.
