TORONTO -- Logan Forsythe might have trouble getting through customs when the Rays travel north of the border in September to play the Blue Jays.
The Rays' second baseman has blistered Blue Jays pitching this season. In Tuesday night's 9-2 win over the Blue Jays, Forsythe hit a leadoff home run as part of a three-hit night.
Forsythe and the Rays were facing nemesis Marco Estrada, who was making his first start of the season against the Rays after dominating in his three starts against them in 2015. In those outings, he once came within five outs of pitching a perfect game and he allowed just eight hits and two runs while striking out 24 in 23 1/3 innings.
Forsythe ended any perfect-game suspense with an opposite-field homer on the fourth pitch of the game.
"I knew I hit it pretty well," Forsythe said. "I didn't know if it would get out. It was a good way to jumpstart the game."
Forsythe's second leadoff home run of the season gave him 13 homers overall this season. He knew what he wanted to try in that first at-bat.
"[Estrada] commands the zone really well," Forsythe said. "And a guy like that you have to kind of pick a couple of pitches you might want to hunt that at-bat. I mean, he's got four pitches that he throws around the zone well. He mixes speeds really well.
"I think your best bet is to try and see the ball as long as you can. Try to get on top of him as much as possible, because if you do get out [in] front and try to pull a guy like that, he's going to beat you all day."

Forsythe delivered again in the fourth with an RBI single to give the Rays a 2-0 lead. Rays manager Kevin Cash praised the importance of Forsythe's work against Estrada.
"We just generally do not get many very good swings against him, and rarely do we find scoring opportunities," Cash said.
Forsythe also was part of the most critical defensive play of the game when he started an inning-ending 4-6-3 double play in the fifth that quieted what appeared to be a big rally opportunity for the Blue Jays.

Forsythe finished 3-for-6 with two RBIs. He has homered in back-to-back games, and has three home runs in his last four games.
For the season, he's hitting .405 (15-for-37) with two doubles, four home runs and seven RBIs against the Blue Jays. And at Rogers Centre, he's hitting .600 (6-for-10) with two home runs and two RBIs.
When asked to explain his success against the Blue Jays this season, Forsythe shrugged and noted that he was "just in one of those stretches."
"And when the stretches have come, it's been against guys like this, guys in our division," Forsythe said. "Seeing the ball well against them, I guess."
