Pipeline Preview: Devers on hot streak for Portland

Here's a look at top prospects to watch in today's Minor League action:
Hitter to watch: Rafael Devers (Red Sox's No. 1), Portland at Hartford (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Devers, MLBPipeline.com's No. 12 prospect, stayed red-hot on Thursday as he went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for Double-A Portland, one day after he hit a pair of homers in a 3-for-4 effort. The 20-year-old lifted his average to .301 with the multi-hit performance, and he's now driven in 50 runs in 68 games.

Pitcher to watch: Gregory Soto (Tigers' No. 29), West Michigan at Great Lakes (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Soto, 22, is opening eyes this season in the Midwest League, where he's gone 6-1 with a 2.57 ERA in 12 starts for Class A West Michigan. The left-hander has posted 69 strikeouts against 32 walks in 63 innings while limiting opposing hitters to a .216 average and just two home runs.
Duel of the day: Adonis Medina (Phillies' No. 15) vs. Tyler Watson (Nationals' No. 17), Lakewood vs. Hagerstown (7:05 p.m. ET)
Medina was outstanding in his first six starts of the season, pitching to a 2.03 ERA with 40 strikeouts in 31 innings for Class A Lakewood. Though the 20-year-old righty has since been less consistent -- he owns a 5.29 ERA across his past six turns -- he's still punched out 76 batters in 63 1/3 innings on the season while pitching to a 3.69 ERA.
Watson recorded a career-high 10 strikeouts over six innings in his most recent turn for Hagerstown. He threw 54 of his 81 pitches for strikes in the outing while allowing one earned run on four hits. The 20-year-old southpaw is having a strong campaign in the South Atlantic League, as he enters having posted a 3.13 ERA with 77 strikeouts in 69 innings spanning 13 starts.
