Reds pitching coach Derek Johnson, who took a personal leave of absence in June, will not return, the club announced on Thursday.
"We wish Derek and his family the best. A search for a new pitching coach will begin immediately," said Reds president of baseball operations Nick Krall in a statement.
Johnson, 54, became the Reds pitching coach ahead of the 2019 season following three seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers in the same position. He was promoted to director of pitching prior to the 2022 season.
