Hitter to watch: Ryan McMahon (Rockies' No. 8), Hartford at New Hampshire (5:35 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
McMahon enjoyed his second four-hit game of the week on Friday, going 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and RBIs for Double-A Hartford. On Monday, the 22-year-old outfielder went 5-for-7 with a home run and six RBIs. Overall, McMahon is batting .414 with three homers and an Eastern League-leading 17 RBIs.
Pitcher to watch:Reynaldo Lopez (White Sox No. 4), Charlotte vs. Rochester (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Lopez, MLBPipeline.com's No. 42 overall prospect, has shown improvement in each of his three starts for Triple-A Charlotte. After a shaky season debut, the 23-year-old righty fanned 10 over 5 1/3 innings in his second turn for the Knights before allowing two earned runs in six innings versus Norfolk in his most recent turn. Lopez been plagued by walks (nine) and the home run ball (four) in the early going, but he continues to miss plenty of bats, with 19 strikeouts in 14 1/3 frames.
Duel of the day: Francis Martes (Astros' No. 1) vs. Manny Banuelos (Angels' No. 30), Fresno vs. Salt Lake (10:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Martes, 21, has yet to give up a run in his two starts for Triple-A Fresno. The No. 18 overall prospect has allowed seven hits over 9 1/3 innings in that span, striking out 10 but also issuing nine walks, including six free passes in 4 1/3 frames in his most recent turn.
Formerly a highly regarded Yankees prospect, Banuelos is hoping to return to the Major Leagues for the first time since 2015 as a member of the Braves. He's pitched well so far for Salt Lake, going 2-0 with a 2.70 ERA in three starts.
